While circular economy is increasingly discussed as a sustainability strategy, its practical application within construction projects remains a challenge.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">On <strong>February 26<sup>th<\/sup>, 2026<\/strong> PMI Romania had the 1<sup>st<\/sup> webinar dedicated to sustainability:\u00a0 \u201c<strong>From linear construction to circular value: Applying circular economy in project delivery<\/strong>\u201d<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">Led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/aylinkaptan\/\"><strong>Aylin Kaptan<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Founder@PY Akademi | Consultant &amp; Trainer &#8211; this session explored how circular economy principles can be applied across the construction project lifecycle to reduce waste, improve<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">Here are a few words from Aylin after this webinar:<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">\u201cOne of the key reflections I shared with the PMI Romania audience is that circular economy is not a sustainability add-on, it is a project delivery and risk management mindset.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">Many of the challenges we face today in construction, from cost volatility to supply chain disruptions, are not isolated issues but symptoms of a linear delivery logic that no longer fits an increasingly complex environment.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">What we often treat as \u201c<em>sustainability outcomes<\/em>\u201d are in fact the result of everyday project decisions, from early design and material selection to procurement and risk allocation. Circular thinking brings a shift in perspective: from short-term cost optimization to long-term value, resilience, and adaptability.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">It also reconnects topics we often manage separately, such as waste and carbon, showing how both are direct outcomes of how we design and deliver projects.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size: 120%;\">Ultimately, circularity becomes real when it is embedded into governance and decision-making from the very beginning , where our influence is highest and where long-term value is defined.
